This is the first Nancy Drew game that the player can play as Ned Nickerson. It is labeled as a special anniversary edition for being the 25th Nancy Drew game. Traditionally, this O-card was only available for exclusive retail store copies found on shelves. When HeR Interactive released this game, they included a cardstock slipcover (known as the O-card) over the plastic cellophane-wrapped plastic DVD case from the website. This game box art was released with a silver-lined Nancy Drew logo instead of the gold that has lined her name since game 14, Danger by Design. The player never sees Nancy’s face, nor sees Ned’s animated character. Player can switch from Nancy to Bess or Ned or George throughout the game, but once Nancy is released from jail, the player becomes solely Nancy. She is arrested and it’s up to her and her friends to prove Nancy’s innocence and find out who the true arsonist is and who framed her. When a clue leads Nancy into the old town hall, a mysterious fire breaks out and Nancy is made the prime suspect. Set in Nancy’s hometown of River Heights, Nancy, and her friends, Bess, George, and Ned take part in the town’s anniversary Clues Challenge. It is inspired by various Nancy Drew graphic novels, Nancy Drew Files #43: False Impressions, and Nancy Drew #163: The Clues Challenge. This game was built on a proprietary engine internally, by HeR Interactive. Can you, as the teenage detective and her closest friends, catch the real arsonist and extinguish the accusations among the embers? Quick Navigation: Police have several suspects, but well-placed incriminating evidence and poisonous local gossip compelled authorities to make only one arrest: Nancy Drew. Escape the Smoky Intrigue of a Hometown Inferno!Ī local contest turns into an arson scene and now deceit smolders among the charred ruins of the River Heights Town Hall.
